Competition Divisions (age groups)

Our junior competition divisions are based on the year the players are at school.  We have done this to make it easier for kids to play with their school peer group.

MIXED COMPETITION DIVISIONS – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

Please ensure you register your team in the correct division. Registering a team or individual in the incorrect division will result in that team or individual being removed from the competition. If you have any questions, please contact the competition co-ordinator on 0439 591 294.

Junior Primary Division – Mixed – Grades 1 & 2

Regardless of year of birth if you are in grade 1 or 2 this is the competition division for you. Preps can play in this division, but parents must be aware that they will be playing against Grade 2 children. Please only enter preps if you are confident that they will be able to engage in the game and follow referee directions.

Intermediate Primary Division – Mixed – Grade 3 & 4

Regardless of year of birth if you are in grade 3 or 4 this is the competition division for you. Grade 2 can play in this division, but parents must be aware that they will be playing against Grade 4 children. Grade 1 and Grade 5 students are NOT permitted in this division.

Senior Primary Division – Mixed - Grade 5 & 6

Regardless of year of birth, if you are in Grade 5 or 6 this is the most appropriate competition division for you. Grade 4 can play in this division, but parents must be aware that they will be playing against Grade 6 children. Grade 3 and Year 7 students are NOT permitted in this division.

Junior Secondary Division – Mixed - Year 7 & 8

Regardless of year of birth, if you are in year 7 or 8 this is the competition division for you. Grade 6 can play in this division but parents must be aware that they will be playing against year 8 students. Grade 5 and Year 9 students are NOT permitted in this division.

Intermediate Secondary Division – Mixed - Year 9 & 10

Regardless of year of birth, if you are in year 9 or 10 this is the competition division for you. Year 8 students can play in this division but must be aware that they will be playing against year 10 students. Year 7 and Year 11 students are NOT permitted in this division.

Senior Secondary Division – Mixed - Year 11 & 12

Regardless of year of birth, if you are in year 11 or 12 this is the competition division for you. Year 10 students can play in this division but must be aware that they will be playing against year 12 students. Year 9 students are NOT permitted in this division. In the event that we do not have enough teams to form this division the teams in this group will be offered a position in the open division.

Open Division - Mixed

Regardless of year of birth year 11 students and above are permitted to play in the open division. Year 10 students who wish to play in this division need to apply to the committee for dispensation. Dispensation will only be granted on a season by season basis and only if the committee is satisfied that both the safety of the players and the integrity of the open competition can be maintained.

GIRLS ONLY COMPETITION

The girls only competition is constructed on a season by season basis, dependant upon the number and ages of the teams entered. As this is a developing competition our aim is to include as many teams and individuals as possible and therefore the age groups can vary each season. We are working towards offering the following competition divisions.

Junior Primary – Grades 1, 2 & 3

Senior Primary – Grades 4, 5 & 6

Junior Secondary – Year 7, 8 and 9

Senior Secondary – Year 10, 11 & 12
